Guilty Gear Xrd is going to be hitting consoles soon and got me thinking on what we can expect. I should point out that there has been no mention of ex characters or gold versions in the game but as a fan of the series and knowing arc systems I can’t help but imagine that we will be getting something. Before I really begin I will say yes I said that we should go into this but I said that when the game was still being finalized and it sounded a little silly to guess what is going to be in the console version when they barely finished the arcade version. With that said lets look into this shall we.
For those who don’t know what I am talking about ex characters became standard after Guilty Gear X2. The character would receive changes to their move list that were either big small. For characters like Sol they received new specials to mix with their old ones as with new overdrives or overdrives just with new animation. Other likes I-no changed very little. Big or small the moves allowed player the chance to change up their play style with out changing their character.
Gold versions can be seen as the character at most feared. Once again using Sol as example some character get permanent stats boost like his dragon install the whole time with no fear of cool down. Other characters like Ky are given a special that is boosted to make them far more furious then normal. His stun edge is made far more powerful by one the damage increases and the hits added on.
The were others like black mode, gg mode but I used the examples above to give you an idea of what I was trying to get at. With that said lets not forget it has been awhile and blazblue has been expiring them some what. So they lets give that some thought. A Guilty Gear version of unlimited mode where they get a mix of gold increases but with ex mix up. Ask yourself this as you await for the game to come to your PS3 or PS4.
