ITS FINALLY HERE!
I’ve been looking forward to this season of Anime for a really long time, because I’ve been less then enthused with the offerings that we’ve had the last couple seasons. I lean towards epic, stories with heroes–no, I do not like anti-heroes (but I won’t get started on that). One of my favorite genres has been Mecha, and lately I’ve felt like the pickings in that category has been slim (Gundam Build Fighters was off the charts AMAZING THOUGH). The Fate/Stay Night series has also been a favorite of mine, and I LOVE Shirou. I know I may be in the minority but Shirou and Saber were what made me fall in love with the series so I’m SUPER excited that they’re back in action!
In no particular order, here are the anime’s that I’ll be watching and (HOMG SO EXCITED–TWO GUNDAMS?! HOW WILL I SURVIVE THIS AMAZINGNESS?!)
1. Gundam Reconguista in G
My favorite Gundam series is Gundam Seed, I don’t care if you judge me. I liked the first season of Gundam OO but really really disliked season 2, so I’m super excited that Gundam is back, I can’t wait to see how this turns out! I think it’s cray-cray that he’s in a red pilot suit though …whuuut?! WHAT?!
2. Gundam Build Fighters Try
HOMG THE CRACK. The epicness, the team battles, I didn’t think the first season would be that good and I WAS WRONG. Did I say SEED was my favorite? IDK Build Fighters is a pretty close second! Guys. Set. Your. GP. BASE.
3. Fate/Stay Night (Unlimited Blade Works)
So, I love the Fate route, but UBW is a close second. The first time I watched Fate I didn’t really care for Rin–but I have grown to know and love her. I do enjoy this route and I think it’s really a great watch. The movie I thought was pretty excellent, so I can’t wait to see how this turns out! Shirou~~ I missed you. Servant-o Seiba~!!
4. Psycho-Pass 2
Okay so, probably hands down my absolute favorite Urobochi work. I’m not gonna lie I am a bit skeptical of his ability to close his animes, but his world building and intelligence with which he deals with very real social problems is always nice. Probably the most intelligent + cerebral + innovative Anime writer for me in today’s landscape. I hope he’s able to pull a good conclusion out for this series though!
