Short post today! So a while back I had to go to the head offices in Tokyo to sign my contract. While I was over I decided I wanted to at least visit one of the popular spots in Tokyo, since I was already in that area. After I finished my work related business I met up with a Japanese friend who suggested we check out Akihabara. But first, we went to eat at Denny’s and let me tell you, the menu is completely different from the American ones. I thought it would have at least one thing that I could recognize but it was all strange Japanese food that I had no idea what they were. I mean, it looked delicious but still strange. And so after, we set off to the Tokyo subway and headed to Akihabara.
Akihabara is the electronics district, full of game centers, anime shops, and maid cafes. I somehow expected it to be a little bit more crazy for some reason, but it was actually pretty normal. Except for the cute Japanese girls dressed as maids at every corner trying to coax people into going into their cafe (Unfortunately, you can’t take pics of them).
Overall, it was a pretty fun place, I liked it. I definitely need to go back and take better pictures, I was just a bit tired from getting up early and getting lost on the train so I took crappy pictures. But it should give you a basic idea, tall buildings, lights, anime. We just walked around and took in the sights and went into some stores and game centers to look around. Afterwards my friend was pretty tired so we just went to a cafe and drank caramel flavored things.
Thanks for reading!
