tl;dr: If you have watched Psycho-pass and like Kougami a lot. Skip it.
Season 2 of Psycho-pass is arguably better then season 1. Plot wise it introduces a new concept, collective entities. The way I interpret it is something like religion, idealism or spirit. It’s a product of multiple individuals and only visible or exist when it is pronounced as a whole substance, but no individual. The antagonist, Kirito Kamui is one of it, the Sibyl System is another.
A lot of new characters are introduced. Inspector Shimotsuki, a fresh blood to team Ayane after Season 1. She’s a bitch.
Enforcer Togane and Hinakawa are in to replace the loss of enforcers. Tougane owns a lot of screen time in PP2 compare to Hinakawa. Then we got Kirito Kamui the villain and Misako Togane, the representative of the Sibyl System this time.
Every character is well developed and everyone is a psycho. Especially the Togane family and Shimotsuki the bitch.
It’s a Gen Urobuchi’s animu. So there’s a lot of gore and mindfucks. A SEASON OF.
It starts from episode one where the Dominators are constantly triggered to deliver the Lethal Eliminator shot to humans. Especially during the clinic scene. That particular scene makes Mirai NIkki looks like Powerpuff Girls.
Now comes to the sad part of Psycho-pass 2.Shinya Kougami is nowhere to be found. That’s it. End of arguement.
Kougami’s character is what makes the original Psycho-pass an epic. And we are stuck with Tsunemori Ayane, the boring and annoying optimist. This reason alone causes the show to be not recommendable to all of the fans of the series.
Everyone loves Kougami. And yes he is coming back. But not in this season.
Soundtrack wise it’s the same tracks from the original Psycho-pass by Kanno Yuugo,it’s good but not refreshing. You will feel like watching Psycho-pass episode 23+.
Enigmatic Feeling by Ling Tosite Sigure is a disappointment. EGOIST’s fallen is fabulous and is one of the best ending song for this season.
Let’s hope Kougami makes it to season 3 of Psycho-pass.
