Have you ever watched a reverse harem and thought, “You know, there’s too much plot here. I just want more eye candy and less substance.”? Well, if you have, I’ve got the perfect anime for you to watch. Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce to you Bonjour ♪ Sweet Love Patisserie.

Bonjour-Koiaji-Pâtisserie1

It’s a series composed of 5-minute mini-episodes about the adventures of scholarship student Sayuri Haruno. She’s enrolled in the super fancy, super high-class confectionery academy (read: fancy baking school) called Fleurir. We never really see her bake, but let’s just say her skills speak for themselves. She’s basically Haruhi from Ouran High School Host Club, except totally girly and totally normal enough for any preteen girl to insert themselves into her shoes.

Oh, what’s that? You want to know how each episode can only be 5 minutes long? You don’t understand how you can tell a compelling story in that short amount of time? Nonsense. You don’t need plot. After all, you’ve got 4 extremely attractive guys (3 of whom happen to be the instructors) to choose from. You don’t have time for silly things like plot or character development.

Here, let me introduce the cast.

First, you have the fiery red-haired student, Ryo Koduki, a.k.a. Mr. I’m-obviously-the-one-she’ll-end-up-with. He’s the most attractive student around and the only actual student out of the four candidates.

Next up are the instructors. Naturally, they each come with their own transforma– uh, I mean confectionery sequences that show how skilled they are at their craft. We have Yoshinosuke Suzumi, the serious and traditional instructor specializing in Japanese sweets:

Next, we have Gilbert Hanahusa, the bright and cheery foreign instructor from France who looks younger than his students:

And finally, we have Mitsuki Aoi, the Prince of Chocolate.

That’s right. We have a generic female character and 4 attractive and skilled confectioners all vying for her attention. Clearly, this is a recipe for success.
