Here is the review of episode one
Okay I guess those are the gods, I take back what I said about never being able to tell the difference between the demons and the gods, the glowing white lights really give it away. This show does not have a very clear timeline either. The battle at the beginning of the episode, I have no idea if this is the past or not. I am just going to act under the assumption that all fighting happened in the past. And would you look at that, I was mistaken already. I also do not understand the purpose of the Joan of Arc character, she has favor with the gods, but what does that mean.
In another part of the world/time, Favaro still has a tail and he is still running around a little too naked for my tastes. The girl type demon placed a spell on Favaro to ensure that he takes her to Helheim like he promised that he would, in my opinion he got off easy. If I was a demon and I wanted to make sure that someone did what they promised I would do something a little more potentially damaging, like I would kidnap their liver or something. Kaisar, the disgraced knight, has seen the tail and he now believes that Favaro is the demon that all the knights are looking for. Pardon my pun, but it seems like everyone is chasing their tail at this point.
Now lets talk for a second about the demon girl’s new outfit, what are they trying to make her look like? Is she supposed to look like an intellectual? Clothes usually denote a person’s profession or stature and I get none of that from her clothes…..and now she (Amira) is drunk. Drunk demon’s apparently party hard….and then talk about their mothers. I actually know some people who have the same reaction to alcohol. I get what the show is trying to do, it is trying to humanize it’s characters, but it really isn’t working. I don’t believe any of the motivations that I have been given.
The episode ends with the classic betrayal and regret. This show really has not shown me anything that I have not already seen somewhere before. The fantasy plot does not feel fresh and the characters are still rubbing me the wrong way. I need to see something original here soon or I don’t think my opinion of this show will change.
