Last week, the last chapter of the Naruto manga was released. This manga ran for 15 years. I only started reading the manga around 5-6 years ago and have been following it weekly ever since. It’s funny how I started because I’ve always known about Naruto since I was all into the anime/manga phase in middle school. But back then, I was more into the girly mangas filled with pretty drawings and romantic plot lines. I got interested in the anime when it got dubbed in english and started airing on cartoon network. My brother was watching it and I decided to join him and found myself liking it. Then I went to watch the original with english subs. When people found out I was watching the anime, they all told me that the manga was way better but I didn’t want to start reading it because I knew there were hundreds of chapters out already. So I stuck with the anime for a few years (despite having no interest in mangas/animes anymore)
Fast forward to the end of my second semester of freshman year in college. I didn’t want to study and was procrastinating like crazy so I decided to start reading the Naruto manga. I didn’t exactly start from the beginning – just started from where I left off in the anime and yeah, spent hours and days reading it until I caught up. Ever since then, I’ve followed the updates weekly. Crazyy!!
I can’t believe it’s finally over. I kind of expected the final fight between Naruto and Sasuke to be longer filled with a bunch of talking and flashbacks in between three or four fight panels but I guess it would have been too draggy haha. The only complaint I have though is the fact that the ending sank one of my favorite ships. Damn lol.
This feels like some sort of closure for my childhood.
