Hello mate, and I would like to introduce Rin’s guardians during his home-stay in Australia. On his right is Mr. Russell and on his left is Mrs. Lori.
Oh yeah, and I forgot about their dog Winnie! BTW, good job Kyoto Animation and Animation DO for hiring native English speakers, although it seems that some of them didn’t speak with their Australian accent.
Nitpicking aside as well as squee-ing when Rin and Haruka are sleeping on the same bed, this penultimate episode is a life-changing one for Haru as he moves out from being content with his “free” lifestyle to something more ambitious…
…like competing with the best of the best as Rin shows to him during their visit to the Sydney Aquatic Centre.
Oh yeah, and they swim against the Australian national swimming team, regardless if whether they won or lost.
Regardless, Haruka has finally found something that’s more free over the horizon as he found a dream of challenging against the best swimmers around the world, instead of being content with his current life after graduation.
And seriously, they even put symbolism on this episode as Haruka was strapped with hawk’s wings. Good job, KyoAni and Animation DO!
With that said, I’ll see you next week for the final episode. And one more thing, seems that Rin will be going back to Australia and train there after graduation.
