Dear Ashley,
I spent last night watching anime. I haven’t been able to sleep too well, I think because of the stress. I have barely started but already I’m feeling it. I think things will ultimately be fine though. It’s like when you’re at the carnival and you go on the scariest ride. At first it’s just awful and terrifying and then after a while, you feel okay. You understand the movement and you adjust. This doesn’t mean that you’re not screaming your head off, but you acclimate to it and start enjoying it. I think this will be the same sort of thing. For right now the ride is just kicking off, so of course it’s scary. I think by December though, I’ll have found a rhythm to work by and I’ll feel more relaxed. At least that’s what I hope.
Aside from that, life is pretty good. On my drive home last night I had an idea for a story, but somehow I feel like it would work better as a screenplay- only, I don’t know how to write those yet. It came out of the blue and zapped down into my mind like lightning- which is how all of my very best ideas seem to come. I can write without having a so-called “gift from the heavens” but there’s more raw energy and passion in a project when it comes soaring out of nothingness. I can’t wait to put pen to paper and flesh it out a bit.
