Sailor Moon, the original series was silly I admit, but it felt like it always had a moral at the end of every episode. At 8 yr.’s old, Sailor Moon left a number of impressions on me-I remember thinking about how awesome it would be to run, jump and kick some serious ass in heels and a skirt…. that one should have a positive outlook, be a good person, and that Sailor Moon is the champion of justice and will beat someone’s @$$ in the name of the moon .
I used to be OBSESSED with Sailor Moon. Honestly, that’s a lie- I never stopped being obsessed with it. The older I got, I noticed “normal” people would make faces when I would bring it up. Plus the majority of the people I knew, never heard of the show-horrid-I know. I remember learning how to use the VCR, just so I could record it , and watch it after school (it was in the early 90’s give me a break). It broke my heart when it got canceled on US TV.
So when I heard that the Sailor Moon series was getting a face-lift and being called “Sailor Moon Crystal” , I was very “Belch” of the new one because it looked…mmm…too glossy (to be blunt it reminded me of bad anime) and I felt they cheapened my ultimate fav anime. BUT being a die-hard fan, I caved- I had to, can’t knock it ‘till you try it.
I watched it and immediately fell in love with it, has the same premise and it is in Japanese-which I love even more! So I know that its on the 4th episode ,but if you don’t already know Sailor Moon Crystal can be watched on Hulu ( aired every 1st & 3rd Saturday for FREE) . So by all means go watch it and come back here so we can chat about it! On a serious note I own a membership there and its pretty awesome and cheap (and has the latest Naruto Shippudden) you should look into it.

Episode 4- Masquerade

Okay so Episode 4, it isn’t far off from the original one, so this makes it that much more enjoyable for me…(I’ll include a link later)

Usagi, Rei, Ami
Just a quick recap, IF you haven’t been watching, currently there are only 3 main characters on the show so far, Sailor Moon (Usagi), Sailor Mercury (Ami), and Sailor Mars (Rei). The scouts still don’t know who Tuxedo Mask is, so Luna doesn’t trust him. The bad guys from the Negaverse are there as well-not in waves like the original. This episode had all 4 of them, Jedite, Nephrite, Zoisite, & Malacite (the “–ite’s” as I like to say), but focused more on Nephrite as the villain, at least this episode.

Okay back to the episode- Princess D comes to town to show off this huge family heirloom for the first time ever at this gala that everyone and their mother is attending. So of course, the scouts, tuxedo mask and the “-ite’s” thinks it’s the imperial silver crystal and decide to crash the party (not together, obvi). I thought it was really funny how on Sailor Moon Crystal when the scouts dress for the occasion their outfits are just as hideous as from the original-not sure why it made me so happy but it did. Well Usagi, while “under cover” as a princess she lost her handkerchief—that *GASP* had her name on it, and *DOUBLE GASP* was picked up by tuxedo mask—which he followed her and asked to dance…
Nephrite possesses princess D for 5 min and chaos ensues throughout the gala and sailor mars can’t beat him with her fire and the usual things won’t work.

But the warm power of love gives Sailor Moon a new improved tiara to scare Nephrite away for the time being.
She got the new tiara and feels feisty again.
I won’t get too into the episode because I really do want you watch it. My main question to everyone and anyone who watches this episode…. did tuxedo mask bother anyone else?! He was always on my top of favorite characters on the show but this episode shed light on a side I never knew…lol. Yes, I am aware I am talking about an anime. Seriously, was it not weird that he didn’t mention-hey I know who you are since you dropped your handkerchief, here it is. Oh one more WTF about Tuxedo Mask-when Sailor Moon falls asleep outside on the deck after the fight and he totally does a creeper move and kisses her ON THE MOUTH while she’s passed out ….NOT COOL! Wtf tuxedo mask?! Thought I knew you….#creeperstatus

I take that back-I never knew him! I was so disturbed with Tuxedo Mask’s behavior I wanted to see if the original was the same. Sadly, it was. I guess it’s meant to be “romantic”—but I call it creepy. Unless we have an established relationship—don’t kiss me while I sleep!
On a serious note—I didn’t want to go too into depth on the episode because I want you to watch it and I would love it if you commented what you thought about the episode or show.
